Community Mural Project at Olivers Meadow

We’re incredibly proud of our students at Ormiston Six Villages Academy who recently took part in an inspiring community mural project at Olivers Meadow.

Working alongside Wild City UK, Artswork, and local artists, our students contributed to the creation of a 40-metre, nature-inspired mural at Aldingbourne Community Sports Centre. Over several weeks, they have been involved in every stage of the process from initial ideas and sketching through to painting and bringing the design to life.

The project has been a fantastic opportunity for our young people to:

• 🎨 Develop their creativity and artistic skills
• 🤝 Collaborate with professional artists and the wider community
• 🌿 Celebrate nature through art
• 💬 Build confidence and pride in contributing to a public space

Despite some challenging weather along the way, the dedication and enthusiasm shown by our students has been outstanding. Seeing their work become part of a large scale community artwork is something they can be truly proud of.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this project possible it’s been a brilliant example of what can be achieved when schools and communities come together.

We can’t wait to see the finished mural and celebrate the impact it will have on the local area!
