Students Complete Inspiring Fire & Rescue Programme with West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service

Eleven students from our school have successfully completed an exciting and enriching programme delivered by the West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service (WSFRS) Targeted Education Team.

The course provided students with a unique opportunity to experience hands-on learning in a structured and supportive environment. Throughout the programme, they developed important life skills including teamwork, communication, resilience, and personal responsibility, while also gaining a deeper understanding of fire safety and emergency response.

During the course, students took part in a range of practical activities designed to challenge and inspire them. These activities not only introduced key fire and rescue skills but also encouraged confidence, discipline, and a positive mindset. The programme is part of WSFRS’s wider commitment to working with young people to promote safety, wellbeing, and personal development within the community.

The experience culminated in a special pass out parade, attended by proud parents, carers, and school staff. The event celebrated the students’ hard work, commitment, and achievements over the duration of the course. Each student demonstrated the skills they had developed and received recognition for their dedication and progress.

Staff from WSFRS praised the group for their enthusiasm and engagement, noting the positive attitude shown throughout the programme. School staff also highlighted the noticeable impact the course has had on the students’ confidence and teamwork abilities.

The success of the programme reflects the strong collaboration between the school and West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service’s Targeted Education Team, whose work continues to support young people across the county in developing essential skills for life.
