Careers Week

Last week, as part of Careers Week, we were delighted to welcome representatives from the West Sussex Growers Association to share their knowledge and experiences with our students.

The session showed how the geography students study connects to real-world issues such as sustainable land use, food production, and environmental management. Growers discussed the challenges of producing food locally and highlighted the importance of climate, soil, water management, and responsible farming practices.

Students also gained insight into the wide range of careers within the agricultural sector, from crop production and farm management to logistics, technology, and environmental planning. The visit helped students see how local growers support food security, the environment, and the regional economy, while highlighting the strong links between geography, sustainability, and future career opportunities.
