Students and staff have been fundraising in support of the Turkey and Syria earthquake appeal.
We were keen to contribute to the humanitarian efforts and provide support for those in need, and as a result organised a sponsored non-uniform day, where each student was asked to bring in a £1 donation.
In showing our support for the ongoing relief work in the region, the academy’s whole community came together to raise £900.46 which will be donated to the Turkey and Syria earthquake appeal helping to provide urgent aid to those in need.
Our support for the humanitarian crisis, forms part of the work the wider-trust has been doing to raise vital funds in support of families across Turkey and Syria who have been impacted by the disaster.
Paul Slaughter, Principal at Ormiston Six Villages Academy, said:
“I’m proud to see our whole community pull together to raise money for such an important cause. Our students are always determined to make a difference and help those who need it most.”
