Year 9 Mock Interviews

This term, almost all of our Year 9 students had a mock job interview. They met for 10 minutes with a visitor to the school and were asked to reflect on their skills, examples of group work and problem solving.

Our visitors were impressed with everyone they met and said students were mature, well presented and made an excellent effort to communicate with adults they’d not met before. A large number of our students were future focused and able to give clear examples of what they expected to be doing in 5 and 10 years’ time. Many students were able to talk about their hobbies and how these linked to their future work skills

Of the 130+ students interviewed, the following stood out for a special mention:

  • Lloyd B: Being pro-active in getting experience in the career he wants to follow
  • Luke B: For persevering, having high ambitions and communicating well
  • Gracie R: For achievement – captain of Southampton Girls football club and a cup winner!
  • Emilio N: Future focused and high ambition. Impressed our interviewer with intelligence and vocabulary

All students were given handwritten feedback to share with parents and carers
