Y7 Castles project

In Y7 History lessons this month, students have been exploring the Middle Ages, specifically focusing on castles. Their homework project has been to explore everyday life in a castle, through either making a model castle or a writing project about a castle they have visited.

Thanks to the generosity of three local museums—Fishbourne Roman Palace & Gardens, Amberley Museum and Heritage Centre and the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum— the three winners of the model competition have been awarded a family ticket to experience a day out at one of the museums.

Congratulations to the winners: Hayden Wingham, Eva C and Isobel Nichols and well done to all students, especially the runners-up Bailey Brockwell, Emily James, Ellenor Wilson, Amber Kemp and Rosie Hayward.

The winning students were announced in the whole school assembly on Monday 24 January and awarded certificates of excellence and their museum tickets. Photographs of the castle project can be seen in the gallery below:

Our Communities

On entering the Academy, students become a member of one of three Communities. Belonging to a Community creates a cohesive and friendly environment that helps students feel a sense of belonging
