West Sussex Democracy Awards

Yesterday, it was a pleasure for Ormiston Six Villages Academy to attend the West Sussex Democracy Awards 2026 in Chichester.

Bella, our Head Student, and Kai attended alongside Mrs Turner and proudly received our award on behalf of the student body.

During the ceremony, they delivered an excellent speech about the importance of democracy and ensuring that young people’s voices are heard.

Belle shared the powerful message:

“This award proves that, in our school, every voice matters.”

Kai added:

“School politics gives students new opportunities to develop their skills, make a difference, and have their voices heard.”

We are incredibly proud of Bella and Kai for representing the academy so well and would like to thank everyone involved in supporting student leadership and democracy within our school community.
