Ofsted Inspection 13 & 14 September 2017

I am pleased to inform you that we are being inspected by Ofsted over the next two days. This will give us the opportunity to share with them some of the significant improvements we have made in the last 18 months since they last inspected.

Our exam results this summer have maintained the upward trend of 2016 and we are proud of the Grade 9s which were awarded to our high achieving students in the new Maths and English examination. This is the highest grade in the new assessment system.

Our work continues to expand the life chances of our students. I am exceptionally proud to be the Principal; some notable highlights from 2016-2017 include:

  • The annual boys and girls conference
  • 100 students taking part in BBC World Music Day
  • Expansion of the Student Leadership team to include Peace Ambassadors and Year 8 Mentors
  • Six Villages winning the regional literature quiz

None of this would be possible without your commitment, belief and partnership. To this end, I would like to invite you to give your views to Ofsted on our Academy. Feedback from parents is an important part of the inspection process. Please do complete the short survey which is open until 11am on Thursday afternoon and take the opportunity to add a text comment. The link to the survey site is www.parentview.ofsted.gov.uk

May I thank you in advance for your support and assistance and I look forward to sharing the final report with you.

Please also find attached a letter to parents and accompanying leaflet from Ofsted providing further information on tomorrow and Thursday’s inspection.

Our Communities

On entering the Academy, students become a member of one of three Communities. Belonging to a Community creates a cohesive and friendly environment that helps students feel a sense of belonging
