Friends OSVA

Charity number 1147038. Established 2012
Who are we?

We formed our Friends Group in February 2012 and achieved Charity status in April 2012.

Our members are all parents, guardians or carers of any pupil currently attending the Academy, teaching and non-teaching staff currently employed at the Academy and any person over 18 offering support or help who has been accepted by the Committee as a member.

We achieved our first fundraising success - the purchase of a new minibus - through events such as raffles, Bags2School collections, donations, cake sales and a Fashion Show.

We hold many activities and events throughout the year to fundraise for the Academy. Information and updates are posted on our News page, and sent home via our email communication system, InTouch.

A message from the Chair

As the Chair of the Friends of Ormiston Six Villages Academy, I would like to express a very warm welcome to parents and carers who have children beginning an exciting new chapter of their school life at Six Villages, as well as families of students already at the Academy; I hope that very soon I will get to know you all a little better.

As a working mum myself, I know exactly how busy life can get and I also recognise that not everyone is lucky enough to have plenty of free time to help or support even more additional activities that are part of school life.  However, there is potentially a huge amount of enjoyment and new friends to be gained by becoming involved with the Friends, as well as knowing that  our work makes a real difference to  all of our students—giving them opportunities for  additional events and activities, as well as funds for equipment and resources may not otherwise have been possible.

I would to extend the hand of friendship even further by asking you to come along and meet me and the current Friends team at a future meeting to find out a little more about what we do. We hope to come up with a few new ideas that will not only be fun, but will also benefit the students and help to support our Academy throughout the school year.

If you would like to be part of the Friends, but cannot make a meeting then please email me using the email address below and I will ensure that you are included on our contact email list so that you can be kept updated on what’s happening.

I am really looking forward to working with you to ensure your help, experience, skills and ideas bring our students the benefits that a strong Friends group can give.
